She never really committed to it, apparently.You stood there, half-packed boxes stacked around the room, and thought: you literally said you wanted this. Out loud. Multiple times.Or maybe it was something smaller. She told you she didn’t care where you went for dinner, then got quiet when you picked the wrong place. She swore she’d never bring up that thing again, and brought it up Thursday.From the masculine operating system, this is lying. A man says what he means, and his word carries weight. You commit to something, you follow through. The arguing stops, the reacting stops, the attempts to hold her to what she said dry up. He just lets it wash over him and tolerates it.This is growth, but it’s incomplete growth. The man who has stopped reacting to her weather has taken a real step forward from where he was. He’s no longer exploding or collapsing every time she shifts. That counts. But he’s stalled at the halfway point if all he’s done is learned to endure it. Tolerance without engagement is withdrawal wearing a calm face. This is the relational capacity. Without it, you might be sturdy and unmovable, but she’ll feel like she’s living with a stone wall.One without the other creates a lopsided man.
